for me this album is a real departure, in that Rest Proof Cockwork (typo, but i prefer it this way) and Not For Threes and Mbuki Mvuki i thought, sounded little like each other and DF takes a lot of sounds from the other albums - the drums on ladyburst and assault on precinct zero, for example. it could be the artwork, but the playfulness of Rest Proof Cockwork is missing, and the hiphop element as well (despite big ups for schematic and scratch daddy addy). for me, i think Double Figure is quite boring, though the 80s synth shit on Porn Coconut Co and Squance is well lush.... three unrelated things: 1. what's happened to bola? 2. are ae at DEMF on groovetech or the like yet (sorry if already posted)? 3. does anyone else actually think that confield is an emotional recording, in the same way chiastic slide is clearly an emotional recording? sorry to bore with irrevelant threads and to not be good grammaring, but i finished my exams and speed is wonderful for this time of year. scott np/ andres - material world "There's nothing so important as trifles" - Dostoevsky --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
